This work ethic is all to the favor of the big Newfie as these dogs eat a lot and exchanging their swimming abilities with humans for some good chow was a smart move on their part. The Newfoundland owners I have met seem to agree that it is a great dog and well worth the expense of keeping one as they return a lot even if the owner doesn’t need them to be doing water work. A strong, brave and loyal dog is worth a lot if you ask me.
