Description: I get the sense that horses today get much better routine veterinary care than they did in the days of yore (that being way back in ancient China) and the emergency procedures available are truly amazing. I’m sure many of you read about the heroic efforts to save the Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro after his tragic accident in the Preakness. The level of expertise and dedication in the equine veterinarians that tried to save him is a remarkable story. I’m glad that horses have remained a part of American culture after the horseless carriage came on the scene. I can appreciate a 1955 Thunderbird or a 1956 Corvette as a beautiful mode of transportation but neither is quite the same as an Arabian in full gallop. Happily there is still room for all things man made and nature made and appreciation of both types. Perhaps the pewter horse name tag would be a nice gift for your favorite large animal vet or technician as they could display an animal who they provide care for in their professional lives or who they especially enjoy at home. A large number of name tags with one pewter animal may make it hard to choose just one, but if you like the Siberian Husky, this pewter rendition of the husky head in a name badge would be perfect. |
