I’ve called this a “western horse” just to distinguish it from the “English horse” that has the braid. I suppose this horse could be one of many breeds. It is more of a fun horse design and not a realistic rendering.

I was looking over some points regarding horse care and got a little interested in the subject. It reminded me of advice that people get when they’re thinking about buying a puppy, which was kind of amusing. I’m talking about very simple things like making sure that the horse you plan to take home with you has a good temperament and you’ll feel safe when riding. It makes sense to pick a horse that is calm rather than a feisty one!

It seems you shouldn’t even consider buying a stallion. Although mares can get a little antsy when their hormones are acting up and they are in season, they will settle down other times and some female horses are never troubled by this. But over all, the advice seems to be to purchase a gelding, at least in the sources that I have.
