Description:
I was just learning a bit about the pug’s bark. It seems they are not given to excessive barking, which must be a blessing to someone living in an apartment or with other people who are made nervous by a lot of noise. But what I find interesting is that their bark is considered not particularly annoying at all! It is described as being sort of a soft bark, not terribly yippy like some other dogs in the toy group.
But they will bark if someone unexpected shows up, as well they should. After all, that is one of the nice things about a dog. At least when in small doses. I suppose a pug would never be a good hunting dog, but the thought is a little amusing. Can you picture a cobby little pug dog following a group of hounds as they tracked down their prey? I’m sure he’d try to stay right up there with the best of them.
Here’s a bit of pug lore I found fascinating. When Josephine, Napoleon’s Josephine that is, was imprisoned she had her pug carry her messages back to Napoleon. How romantic!
