When I first decided to add a dog bone earring to my line of dog jewelry, I had no idea if anyone would like the concept or not. I certainly didn’t have to fret an instant about that possibility! It seems that everyone relates the classic shape of a dog bone to man and woman’s best friend, don’t you agree?

The funny thing is that there never has been a bone that really looks like the one you see here or anywhere else this symbol is used. But our eyes seem to enjoy symmetry, and the typical design concept of the bone, including the one that I make, seems to be about the same. I think if you handed just about anyone a piece of paper and asked them to draw a dog bone, it would look quite a bit like the one you see here!

Such is the way of things, and I’m not one to argue. But no way would the dog bone be a favored item of jewelry if it weren’t for the wonderful nature of our canine companions! I mean who else would wear a representation of a bone in their ear but a dog loving person?
