How different, how unusual, how fun to wear a gold guinea pig on your collar! I like the idea of 14k gold pin gifts being something other than the requisite elephant, dog or cat. (However, of course I do make those as well)
But I believe the “little folk” who have a place in our hearts should be represented. And since not a heck of a lot of artists are bothering with them, I decided to step up to the plate! Plus they are just so cute and fun to make jewelry of and compliment the designs found as gold wildlife pins.
Not all of them are really small pets. I think rabbits can be as least as large as a good sized cat. Referring to them as small pets is just an easy way to differentiate between the more common pets and these guys.
I think it’s pretty interesting how rats have become a popular pet lately. I know they have gotten a bad rap because of all the obvious historical reasons. But it’s also true that they must be pretty smart cookies to be such great survivors in the first place, and that that trait would translate into good petness as well.
