Description:
Sheep have a reputation for being rather stupid animals, probably because they tend to follow each other no matter what. That “no matter what” is the sheep’s undoing. A sheep could walk onto a freeway and everybody else would follow suit. It’s unfortunate, but I bet it suited them at least some time in the past as a better way to survive than have no plan at all and just wait to be slaughtered.
In Iceland there is a type of sheep that is called a “leadersheep.” These are definitely smart sheep. They can lead a flock home during dangerous situations such as blizzards. They’ve even saved the lives of men who were out watching their flocks. I certainly hope these valiant sheep never end up in the pot for dinner. That would not be right!
Sheep generally like to stay together in the pasture. They have the “safety in numbers” thing really genned in. Predators usually won’t attack an entire tightly banded together flock but go instead for the outliers, the sheep that are apart from the flock for one reason or another.
Pins are nice to have and wear, and this gold sheep pin is really a mesmerizing piece of jewelry with a mix of gleaming gold on the face of the sheep and a lot of curly gold “wool” all over the body.
