Let me explain. This particular schnauzer is not a breed perfect example of a schnauzer. Some people have told me that ideally the body shape would be more “square” than it is here. I certainly do sell the schnauzer pin and it has been included in my line of dog jewelry for many years, but breeders and people with a strong eye for breed conformation might not like it as much.

Why do I even bother to tell you? Well, gold is expensive, and I want to make sure that the intended recipient will like something that I cast before it leaves The Magic Zoo. I realize this kind of eliminates the “surprise” element, but with this piece I think it may be more important that she knows ahead of time!

Enough said. One of these days I will redesign this schnauzer more to “breed standard,”  but that is then and this is now. The schnauzer is an old and important breed, and he does deserve good representation in my line, and so it shall be some time in the future.
