It’s rather large (a bit over 2 inches from tail to horn). It is definitely wildlife jewelry not to be forgotten, and one that could become a family heirloom. The other wonderful thing about this piece is that it can be worn as either a pin, or a pendant on a chain.

Rhinos are not really all that social, but if a couple of them meet in an overlapping range, they don’t give each other a particularly hard time. They are sometimes wary, but just as often may form a light “friendship” of short duration. When a male and a female meet, he will approach her rather carefully, sometimes swinging his head from side to side. If she charges him, he trots off and tries again. This little game can go on for quite a while, even several hours. Something tells me there’s not a lot to do out there on the rhino range.

The black rhinoceros, which is really grey, eats off of bushes that grow low to the ground. He eats stuff that sounds pretty unappetizing and even painful; thorny woody food, basically that he collects with his upper lip which is more like an appendage and is quite prehensile.
