Have you ever seen a gold pin pendant of a small pet? Perhaps I should explain the intricacies of a pin pendant design. Basically, it’s a piece of jewelry that can be worn either as a pendant with a chain threaded through a loop in the back of the design, or as a pin. (There is, of course a pin on the back of the piece as well.)
I figured there were very few, if any, artists designing jewelry for people who loved the smallest of small furry pets. You know- the ferrets, guinea pigs, chinchillas and others. It’s interesting, because my little guinea pig jewelry has become fairly popular, so I think people have been looking for something to represent these cute little pets.
I like to create gold jewelry that is representative of the small pet in question, but with enough leeway that I can add a bit of fun and personality to the design. I would be bored and don’t even think I have the capability to design something considered to be completely “serious” art.
