My gold reptile pin pendants were high on the list of designs I couldn’t wait to get to when I finally figured out that I could design my jewelry in sterling silver and gold. I am fascinated by all reptiles, and love to learn about everything from the giant Komodo dragon to the local grey gopher tortoise right here in Florida.
I have no idea how many reptiles there are in the world, but I love the fact that they have such varied body types and habits. Isn’t it just a little strange to realize that the beautiful green sea turtle and the rattlesnake belong to the same class of animals? That’s what I mean, absorbing stuff.
Reptiles do not disturb me. I can handle a snake with aplomb (not a poisonous one). When we visited Alameda East Veterinary Clinic a little while back Dr. Fitzgerald handed me a turtle and I felt honored that Kevin seemed to know I’d enjoy the experience. He did scratch me with his little turtle claws, trying hard to break my grip so he could what? Go careening down to smash onto the floor? Sometimes turtles just don’t think things through.
I had a great time designing these gold reptile pin pendants, and think they are a fabulous size to wear as either a pin or a pendant which, of course is what they were made for!
