Description: I’ve not myself ever made direct contact with a pig snout, but from a very descriptive reference in a book I got from the local library, it sees the snout is of primary importance in the social life of the pig. The author was given to the opinion that pigs even did a certain amount of pigly grunting through said nose. They most certainly use it as a means of first contact, and even perspire through their noses. (They have no sweat glands.) That pig snout is most certainly a characteristic of which the pig family retains sole ownership. As far as one of their other appendages, the pig has a keen sense of hearing, and will perk up his ears even if he is dozing. They also like to be scratched behind the ears. I hope I remember this in case I ever find myself confronted by an angry hog so he can be instantly neutralized. Proceeding to the other end of things, the pig tail is not necessarily a little pink coil, but on many pigs hangs down recklessly behind the pig and occasionally shifts according to his mood.
