The gold bird pin pendant would be a majestic piece of gold jewelry to own. What I really love about my work in gold is that my pieces aren’t “serious”, they aren’t necessarily “dramatic” and it just gives me a kick to see something fun cast in 14k gold!
Maybe it’s also the idea of being an artist whose work can be cast as gold pin pendants, something that will be passed down through the generations in a family. It’s a bit like leaving some beauty in the world and making a difference to someone by adding some art to their lives that has meaning personally to them. Birds are such incredible creatures-light, ethereal and each species, whether a pet bird or one in its native habitat, with its own place in the world. One of these days I swear I will go to South America and watch the flight of Hyacinth Macaws or Blue and Gold Macaws. That must be a tremendous experience!
Of course here in Florida we have our share of birds, both exotic and song birds. When we first relocated here I was thrilled and surprised to find flocks of grey-green Quaker parakeets soaring through the clear Florida skies. They have certainly established themselves here. In downtown Clearwater they have several Quaker Condos in the palm trees on Fort Harrison Avenue.
