Description: I designed this gold monkey jewelry loosely after the capuchin monkey, a native of South America and a pretty classic looking monkey (I have a similar but front facing design in a smaller gold monkey pendant that is also worth investigation). I recently watched a silent Buster Keaton movie where he dresses like and does a fantastic impersonation of a capuchin-it’s worth seeing and is called “The Playhouse”. One of the species of capuchin like monkeys is the adorable squirrel monkey. They have an almost human quality to their face. They live in large bands run by the female monkeys, who have no particular hierarchy. The males stay to the outer parts of the troop. The boys don’t seem to have much to do with anyone else except for during the mating season. These monkeys tend to live along the edges of the forests, especially where there are rivers. They come down out of the trees sometimes but are also seen in the upper canopy. Most of their diet consists of fruit and insects and they aren’t big on salads. In fact, hardly any green matter is consumed. You could combine this gold monkey pendant with either of my dangling monkey earrings, if you don’t mind being asked over and over again where you got them! Oh, the burden of being a Magic Zoo shopper. This 14k gold large monkey pendant would make a great monkey necklace on a gold chain. Truly a gift worthy of a true monkey lover!
