I feel that manatees have awfully sweet faces, and I tried to capture that sweetness in my 14k gold large manatee pendant. (It isn’t really that large, only about ¾ of an inch long, as opposed to my small manatee pendant which is ½ an inch long.) |

Description: I live in Florida and I’ve gotten to visit with these wonderful mammals occasionally (probably what inspired me add this design to my gold marine life pendant collection). The “visit” however, is pretty one-sided. Mostly consisting of me and a large crowd of other admirers observing a group of manatees gulping down head after head of romaine lettuce. I’m very pleased that people do love and care for manatees, because I want them around when all of our grandkids have their own grandkids. In fact, I have a small version of my gold manatee pendant for the smaller members of our families! Manatees are completely harmless mammals. They are sluggish swimmers in coastal lagoons and in rivers. The fact that they can be curious is sometimes their undoing, because their eyesight is poor they sometimes approach boats and can be harmed by propellers. When manatees are in shallow water, they sometimes do their version of “standing”, which is bending their tail under the hind end of their body and lift their head and shoulders out of the water. I believe that a manatee lover would adore this 14k gold manatee large pendant and would wear it often. It would probably become a much-loved favorite, eventually passed down to that next generation of manatee lovers. |
