Description: The Weimaraner is a sensitive dog, and is an excellent watch dog as well as a fabulous helper for the hunter. My 14k westie pendant is an example of a smaller dog with good watchdog skills that is also a good hunter, if of vermin! A dog that can be rather strong willed at times, the weimaraner becomes very well behaved if trained correctly. The head is long and very aristocratic looking. The head is broader in the male and it has pendulous pinkish lips. The eyes are beautiful, either amber or a bluish grey color. The expression of the dog is an intelligent one. I think those eyes really reflect the smarts that this dog was born with! The color can vary somewhat, but basically encompasses many different shades of grey. The coat is dense and short. The legs are strong and straight, and the tail is docked. It has a muscular neck which is not overly long, but is definitely not short. This is one of the active breeds, so you must be able to let it have a lot of exercise. I would never subject a dog with this heritage to life in an apartment or small house with a tiny yard.
