Description: I remember the day I designed my pet paw pendant. It was one of several prototypes that I had been experimenting with and it took me quite a while to work out which one of them had the look I was going for. It’s not always clear cut which of the designs will cast well, and I’m always on pins and needles until I get the initial casting from my gold or silversmith. The day the package arrived from New England that contained my first pet paw pendants was a very happy one indeed! I found them beautiful and they have, in fact, been one of my most beloved designs, according to my customer’s comments. I think all the time and effort that went into the creation of the final piece was more than worth it. But the first time I had one cast in 14k gold was a happy time indeed. I think it is even more beautiful in the gold than in the silver! There is just something about the way the light plays on the surface of the design that I find most entrancing.
