Description: The dachshund is a fairly old breed, and the basset hound is the only other breed that seems to have any affinity with it. There are a few similarities between the two breeds, but to me they don’t look that much alike. But of course I am not much of an expert in these matters. However, the dachshund of the past was apparently more hound- like than the present one and maybe looked closer to the basset. I guess the next question might be just how closely related are the basset hound and the dachshund in reality?
