Description: Let me explain what I mean. Of course I’m just an outside observer, but I have noticed a few things that seem to be the confusing factors. One of my sources says that the Parsons Jack Russell terrier has just been recognized by the Kennel Club in Great Britain, but only that particular strain, which now has strict breed conformations. But there are lots of other Jack Russells running around loose without pedigrees. What’s to become of them? I also picked up the fact that many people are perfectly happy this “breed” is going unrecognized because the special and practical qualities of the dog have never been mitigated just to produce a dog that has the required outer look that is demanded for the show ring. In other words, the Jack Russell terrier is a breed for the people! Whatever his official status, he will, I am sure, be loved and admired as a hard working little guy, kind of a mascot around the stables and an all round nice guy that doesn’t care a fig for the official title that may continue to elude him. On that note, I would like to suggest his scrappy little image in a gold Jack Russell pendant to be worn for all time! My dog pendants in gold are available in many breeds and I think dog lovers might also enjoy my small gold labrador pendant. |
