Description: The bulldog head is very large compared to the size of his body, and is sometimes referred to as being “massive.” The dog itself is not that large, the females being about 50 lbs. and the males a few pounds heavier (certainly bigger than many others, such as my chihuahua pendant in 14k gold). It is considered a good thing for the head to be broad, and some say the broader, the better. The folds on the face should be dense, and the muzzle short and pug. This is a dog where the jaw is supposed to be undershot. I don’t see a lot of bulldogs, so I don't think they are as common as many of my other 14k canine pendant breeds. Either they are somewhat rare, or the people who own them just don’t take them out, which I can certainly understand in this Florida weather. Bulldogs don’t do well in the heat, and that’s something we certainly have aplenty of in Florida in the summer time. At least air conditioning would allow a bulldog lover to have one here! That probably wouldn’t have been possible in the 1940s. The last bulldog I had the pleasure of meeting was a wonderful whitish gentleman at a trade show few months ago. He seemed pretty comfortable and made himself at home in the convention hall. I think the idea of your sweet dog in a gold bulldog pendant ought to turn a few heads!
