Of all my gold animal pendants, a gold bug pendant may seem to you to be taking things just a little too far. Not so, says I! Who’s to say that a member of the lowly insect kingdom is no more deserving of representation in my Magic Zoo jewelry line than say, an elephant or a mouse, or a dear pet like my 14k feline pendants? They are, after all living creatures just trying to make their way in the world, which must seem to them to be a very hostile world indeed with people chasing them with shoes and rolled up papers all the time.
But to make a gold bug pendant may be one of the higher honors I would bestow upon the lowly bug. Lowly? This point could perhaps be argued. They may be small but they have much to contribute to the health of the planet, a point that should be well taken by those who spray the food we eat with insecticides that don’t discriminate between the lady bug and the tomato worm.
If all our lovely bugs like the butterflies and the ladybugs were to disappear, we would be in a sorry state indeed. These little critters may go unnoticed for much of the time, but they have a very large impact on the planet. Just think of all the bugs that feed our birds that spread their songs, among many other things that birds do. It goes all the way up the line.
So wear a gold bug pendant and see if that doesn’t bring you just a little closer to the wonders of the insect realm! |
