Description:
They are considered to be heavy bodied, but that’s only because the size of their bodies is rather small. Kind of like bowling balls.
And clumsy? Why are they considered clumsy? Granted they aren’t too good at walking on the ground, but their bodies were designed to spend most all the time in a tree. I think if they were clumsy they wouldn’t have lasted too long. They have opposable digits on their hands, just perfect for the life they live, grasping the tree trunks.
They don’t have a real nest, but when they want to rest they usually find a fork in a tree to wedge themselves into.
They eat about 2 ½ pounds of eucalyptus leaves every day. Sounds like a boring diet, but they must enjoy it, at least I hope they do! Come to think of it, my granddaughter has eaten nothing but peanut butter sandwiches for the past 2 months. Luckily I got her addicted to daily glasses of fresh squeezed vegetable and fruit juices when she was about a year old, so it’s not so bad. But it still sounds boring.
So get out those 14k koala earrings and wear them in good koala health!
