I find it fun to have a series of different gold wildlife earrings. For many years my designs were cast primarily in sterling silver, but now every one of my silver designs has a 14k gold counterpart. I love the look of little gift earrings in gold dancing below an ear. They are whimsical and seem right at home there!
If I weren’t an artist and I was independently wealthy, here’s what I would do and what I would not do. I certainly would not spend my days shopping in expensive shops and dining in the most exclusive restaurants. Here’s what I would do. I’d hike across the planet and learn everything I could, first hand, about all the animals I had time to learn about, probably starting in New Zealand and Australia! Animals of all kinds are endlessly fascinating to me, and I don’t think I would ever tire of such an adventure.
But since I am saddled with the burden (joke) of being an artist, I’ll just have to settle for some of my life being spent in a well lit studio, designing things like exotic gold bird earrings and gleaning as much interesting information about their habits and lives as I can. Not a bad trade off, actually.
