If you are a horsewoman, you probably already know this, but it’s new to me. There are now sneakers made for horses! I think that sounds like a very comfortable idea. I haven’t the foggiest notion how good they really are or even if the idea is necessary, but it seems like a horse would enjoy galloping on a hoof that absorbs some of the massive shock from that huge body pounding on the ground. It seems this type of shoe would be especially necessary for the horse that has to spend time on hard pavement, such as a police horse.

The life of a farrier must be an adventurous one at times. And if he or she is an entrepreneur, all the more adventure must present itself. You’d have to be somewhat business savvy as well as an excellent craftsman or craftswoman. Not to mention being familiar with all the different types of shoes and which ones would be the best for your particular (horse) client.

It seems the ideal condition for the horse hoof would be barefooted in soft sod. I imagine that would go for us humans as well. Unfortunately the modern life we live seems to require shoes for both of us to move around successfully. This is where the importance of a skilled farrier comes in.
