Description:
It’s said that pigs do not overeat. Sure they get big and fat, but that is more a function of what they’re fed and how they’re bred, which is in a way to convert the most food into meat. They aren’t picky eaters, but are omnivorous, as, supposedly are we. The thing about hogs is that they eat until they’re full and not a bit more. Horses on the other hand will overeat to the point of death, having a real sensitivity to too much grain that affects their hooves in a way I don’t pretend to understand.
But pigs are said to have the smarts to stop eating before they get so much as a bellyache. Of course this is hearsay, albeit written in a book. I like to err on the side of the pig, feeling that they are a maligned creature that deserves better at the hands of those who eventually sacrifice him for the table.
Back to the subject of the gold pig earrings. I have affection for the porcine fellow that hasn’t the faintest thing to do with a pork chop, and I hope you can see it here!
