I realize that there most certainly exists a dearth of attractive gold cow jewelry, and this is what primarily prompted this design. Enough said.

There are several breeds of dairy cattle. The most common being the Holstein-Friesians. Common, but not common enough for this girl who grew up in the suburbs to have ever heard of them. But I have heard of Hereford cattle, even if I did have it mixed up with a heifer. Luckily I have now sorted out this embarrassing confusion.

There are a couple more famous dairy cattle, the brown Jersey and the tan and white Guernsey, both of which I have heard of, and both of which are famous for their creamy yellow milk with lots of butterfat. Just what we Americans need more of!

In the forests of India and in Asia there’s a large brown breed of wild cattle that live in forests. They are big, with white stocking white markings on their legs, and horns that curve gracefully towards each other in a perfect crescent.

This would be a great and highly unusual (not to mention unexpected) gift for the cow lover- a unique pair of 14k gold cow earrings!
