I apologize for that, it was unavoidable! My first name, however can be a magnet for saying things like that.

The sheltie really does have a beautiful coat. There are so many variations of the coat color from a reddish brown to sable and even blue merles, which are quite lovely. That is a color that is so hard to capture, even when working in the colored clay to make my jewelry, which I did for many years.  I often had requests from customers to create a blue merle in many of the breeds, and it was a definite challenge.

The Sheltie is a very fastidious dog. It probably is quite appreciative of the weekly or twice weekly brushing and has even been seen licking itself like a cat to keep especially clean. The coat is also able to repel much dirt and mud just by the nature of it.

For a sheltie to be happy, it needs to have a close relationship with its master. There is even some evidence that the dog can have sort of a telepathic relationship with its owner. I certainly think my sister, the owner of two shelties in the past, would whole heartedly agree.

I created this pair of gold sheltie earrings with the intention of making some that would be meaningful for anyone who loved this breed.
