Description: Dachshunds are such adorable dogs anyway, and then you add this wonderful feathering to them and it’s almost too much! And I mean that in the best possible way. The dachshund is a perky and friendly little dog that makes a great pet. One of the things that any dachshund owner has to be aware of is not letting the dog jump down from any height, say a chair or couch so their back isn’t injured. That may be easier said than done. They look like pretty strong willed dogs and I bet you have to keep an eye on them so they don’t just take a fancy to sailing off into space from your bed when you’re not looking. The long haired dachshund should be combed, but there’s not a lot of extra cared that needs to be given to the coat, contrary to what one might think. There are several color varieties of the dachshund, from the black and tan, the chocolate, the grey and white, all of which have the tan markings as well. There are also dapples and stripes.
