Description: I find it quite extraordinary, but there are six different varieties of the dachshund! I make this short haired version and long haired gold dachshund earrings but there is a wire haired version and a standard and a miniature version of each of them! That’s a lot of dachshunds, and I’m glad I have a couple of the versions in my line. Actually, I could get away with saying I have 4 of the versions because the size is subject to whatever size you wish them to be! I hope this makes sense! If things get too confusing, just look at the pictures. One of the ancestors of the dachshund is a dog I have never heard of called the Bibarhund. The dachshund or a close variation of it was seen as early as the 1500s. So this is a little Renaissance dog. That makes sense. Queen Victoria was the first person in all of England to own a dachshund, a present from her fiancée Prince Albert. To be perfectly honest I don’t know that it was a gift from her fiancée, but since Albert was German I can only deduce the obvious… A royal pair of 14k gold dachshund earrings as befits a dog with royal lineage!
