Description: When I was a child sitting small in the dentist’s big leather chair and feeling uncomfortably vulnerable, it would’ve been nice to have something to make me laugh. Of course I had a male dentist, so perhaps I wouldn’t have laughed so much in the 1950s and 60s – probably more likely have been even further scared out of my wits. But I digress. Anyway, you get the idea! Many people, or possibly most people would rather be any place else. I don’t mean to be insulting, but as you have also been in this situation, I’m sure you’ll agree! Question: Is it less upsetting for a dentist to have his or her teeth worked on than your average lay patient? Just wondering. To me it seems if you had a really good idea of what was about to occur and exactly why, the fear factor would be somewhat lessened. I know my dentist, Dr. Charlie, is a great one for explaining what he’s doing which is a big help. Anyway, looking up at your (female) dentist or hygienist and seeing a jolly pair of friendly teeth looking back at you might be just the thing needed to give the situation a slightly different spin. Or you could try a combination with a different earring on each ear as with my gold tooth and brush earrings. Even more designs can be found at jewelry gifts for dentists home.
