Description: These little beauties remind me of the yellow butterflies that I follow with my eyes as long as I possibly can as they effortlessly seem to float across my lawn and into my neighbor’s backyard. Just a gentle flap or two of the wings. How do they do it? Think of all the different kinds of caterpillars there have to be to create all those lovely adult butterflies! Yet I hardly ever see one. This is probably a good thing because if I can’t find them then my neighborhood jaybird probably can’t either. There certainly must be a good number of them to result in the large numbers of the butterflies that are. I’m pretty sure that all butterflies are diurnal (awake during the day, like us). The moths are their cousins that take the night shift.It’s a good thing for us, because I wouldn’t want to miss all that beauty! Come to think of it, if the butterflies were nocturnal they wouldn’t bother with all the color, anyway. It’s been worked out rather nicely. There are migratory butterflies like the monarchs, local butterflies that are only in isolated areas, and some that seem to be allover the map, literally. Or at least within a given country. The gold butterfly earrings are my nod to an insect that I have loved and admired since childhood. I've begun a home page for 14k gold bug earrings and now have delightful gold dragonfly earrings.
