Gold earrings were the very first kind I bought when I had my ears pierced in the early 80s. Believe it or not, this was before the Magic Zoo even existed! I sometimes wonder if there really was life before The Magic Zoo. I think I still have those little plain loops that made me feel so elegant when I was in my 30s. Of course now I prefer something a bit more dramatic, like a pair of gold cat earrings, staring demurely out into the world from the security of my ears. Or perhaps a pair of gold pet paw earrings, prettily catching the light as they swing gently with every movement! Gold is still so elegant, and is what most people think of when they hear the expression precious metal. The first time I saw one of my designs cast in 14k gold was a thrilling moment indeed. I thought to myself that this pair of gold earrings will most likely be in existence for thousands of years! People have certainly been wearing gold earrings that long as a stroll through a museum will show you. 14k jewelry is also something that makes a most wonderful gift. Combine that with the possibility of a pair of gold earrings having the face and personality of someone’s beloved animal companion and you truly have a fabulous gift. |
