Description: How’s this for a bit of rabbit trivia? There are around 44 species of rabbits, all with similar habits? I suppose they would be considered very successful, because there certainly are a lot of them.
Rabbits were originally native to southwest Europe and Northwest Africa. Most of their spread across the world was with the help of humans. Two different groups were blamed for spreading the rabbit throughout England, the Romans and the Normans. But later it was discovered that they didn’t actually arrive in Britain until the 1100s. They were considered desirable and guarded.
Rabbits used to be put in the same group as the rodents, but were reclassified in their own family along with hares and pikas. The most familiar characteristics are of course the long ears and the long hind legs that allows them to hop.
In honor of all those gentle souls who have taken rabbits into their homes as pets, I’ve created my gold bunny collection and I certainly hope you enjoy all the various bunny and rabbit design possibilities and combinations available.
Charms are well named, and I don’t think you can get more “charming” than this 14k gold bunny, one of a series of marvelous small pet charms in gold. There is a hard to find gold chinchilla charm located there, too.
