Description: Chameleons are forest dwellers for the most part. They don’t move a lot, that is, except for those weird, independently roving eyes. They are on the lookout for either food or danger. When they do move, they do it at a stately pace, so slow you could miss it. They move forward with one fore foot and one hind foot at a time, very slowly. After the first two feet are securely back on the branch, the other set goes through the same motion. I demonstrated this to my husband who was quite impressed and suggested gently that perhaps I needed to take a break. Most chameleons live in the trees, as that seems to be what all their appendages were designed for.
When chameleons shed their skin, the old skin comes away from the lizard’s body in one piece at first, so it looks like it’s inside a plastic bag. Soon the old skin splits and flakes off, and it has a brand new beautiful lizard set of duds.
If you’ve been searching high and low for some unusual reptile charms made from gold especially in the form of a chameleon, I’d like to welcome you to the Magic Zoo and would like to suggest that you’ve come to the right place! (Even though I have managed to include a sleek gold frog charm here amongst the reptiles)
