I apologize. It’s just my inner vegetarian coming forth.
I think the Hindus have the right idea. Cattle are considered sacred. Their cattle are beautiful. They are known as Zebus and are usually a very light color, almost a white. They have a hump on their shoulders and a dewlap that hangs from their necks. They are working animals so they don’t get a total “free ride”. Some pull plows and othes are milked. Zebus are heat- hardy animals, and are sometimes bred with other breeds to create a new type of cow that is even hardier.
There are some other beautiful looking cattle in the world. I especially like the banteg cattle from Java. They are chocolate brown in color with white legs from the knees down.
Another breed I find attractive is the Ankole cattle in Africa. These breeds just don’t have so much of that “domesticated” look about them.
There’s a lot more to learn about this animal than I ever thought possible. I suppose that may be true of many types of farm animals. That may be why I now have a
14k gold farm animal charms home page on my site. (You can find a
sweet donkey charm in gold.)
Do you have a friend who is crazy about cows? This 14k cow charm might be an appropriate gift for that next special holiday or birthday.
