Description: The Boston terrier may be strong willed, but where did the idea of being weak willed ever suit anyone, man or beast? As far as I’m concerned, I’d take the personality of a dog with his own ideas about things over a neurotic animal that had to be told how to do everything without having a single doggy thought of his own. Besides, it’s kind of sweet when you think about it. A dog that knows his own mind. The Boston is described physically as being compact with a wrinkle free head and a short wide muzzle. The Boston is thought of as being black and white, but actually brindle and white is the more preferred coloration. Sometimes the brindling on a dog is so dark that it’s thought of as being black, and that’s probably why most people think of this little dog as being black and white, including myself. The Boston terrier would be a good dog for someone who wants a compact dog with a slightly bigger dog’s personality. To be blunt, a dog that isn’t yippy like some toy dogs do tend to be sometimes! I have nothing against small dogs, mind you, but the yipping would probably drive me nuts (yippy dog lovers can find those dogs lovingly portrayed on my gold dog breed charms home page).
