I know that dachshunds can have a little weight problem because they're so low to the ground, but we can always pretend that this little guy is just begging for his favorite rubber ball, not a bite of your pizza. I would think he just enjoys being a wee bit higher!
What seems like eons ago, I designed a begging dachshund design that I made of clay. It was so popular that I wished I had a way to reproduce it to fill the demand of my customers. Voila! This painted pewter version has made me and my customers very happy indeed. If only all my old clay designs could be recreated in the painted pewter.
But I'm so happy that the little red dachshund design worked so well as a pair of enamel earrings. He seems full of the original Magic Zoo personality that has always been an important aspect of my creations. I'm not sure if it's that little black dot of an eye that sort of sparkles with merriment, or if it's the pose. My guess is that it's both.
The opposite side of these earrings is a silvery pewter color that is very pretty in its own right. So coming or going you'll look great in my enamel red dachshund earrings!
