These little studs have an amazing amount of detail for the size of the earrings. Also, it is a bit difficult as an artist to achieve a lot of detail when you are working with something that is monotone, especially black! That being said, I think these earrings, possibly because of their slightly 3-dimensional design, really work well.

But that little pewter eye breaks up the solidity of the color and gives it warmth and personality. I think he is an awfully cute little fellow! And there is nothing else in the universe that looks quite like a black lab, so overall this design turned out rather well.

To me, a black lab makes me think of a big, friendly dog that would like nothing better than to overwhelm you with licks. Does that about sum it up for your dog? How could a Lab be a guard dog? Maybe they aren’t commonly used in this area. I do know that labs make wonderful seeing -eye dogs. They have such a kindly countenance- it seems like they were made for such a job.
