Now what could be more charming than a pair of enamel bug post earrings? Yes, ‘tis true there is only one variety of them at the moment, but it’s not because I hate bugs. In fact I belong to a select but unorganized club of women who actually like insects. Yes, you heard that correctly. With the exception of cockroaches, mosquitoes, and cabbage moth caterpillars (well, there could be a few more pests I’d stick in there, such as aphids) I really not only don’t mind bugs, but I like them.
And even the aforementioned species are kind of interesting. I’m just not all that interested in having a close relationship with a cockroach or mosquito.
When you think about it, insects are more numerous than just about any other animal on the planet. Or maybe there are more insects than all the other animals put together. I do believe that’s correct. Tells me that they may have important jobs to do on the planet, such as cleaning up garbage of certain types, pollinating flowers, feeding birds and probably a few others I can’t think of right now.
So be not afraid of the lowly insect. He needs some understanding just like the rest of us. And wear a pair of enamel bug post earrings just to let him know you care. |
