It’s not a “serious” piece of dog jewelry, but something pretty and different. It could go nicely with a summer dress or a winter sweater. It doesn’t have a lot to do with what is currently fashionable. Like all of my animal jewelry, I design for the individual instead of what the fashion “powers that be” say you’re supposed to wear.

But I would imagine that a yellow lab lover would feel she was “supposed to wear” something that expressed her affection for her breed and color of choice. This little painted necklace certainly makes that expression clear! It is especially pretty in company with the two contrasting beads made of glass. If you aren’t familiar with my “enamel” jewelry, it is actually lead-free pewter cast from my design and painted with durable epoxy paint. They are done by hand.

Necklaces are fun to wear with the matching earrings, so of course I do offer the yellow lab as earrings as well. In fact, I have two choices of yellow lab earrings (studs and dangly). But then again, one of the nice things about necklaces is that they look just fine on their own as well. And they’re a fine choice for someone without pierced ears.

Whether you have a yellow lab, love yellow labs, or have a dear friend or family member who loves yellow labs, this enamel yellow lab necklace would be a marvelous thing to own or give.
