I think its fun to wear an enamel necklace around your neck- just a touch of color and whimsy to remind yourself (and everyone around you) to lighten up a bit! That’s the wonderful thing about art. As my daughter said, art has the ability to make people realize that the planet is not such a bad place.
I’ve been creating the enamel jewelry for a little while, and expect to continue working in this medium. It is actually lead free pewter with epoxy enamel painted over it. It is quite permanent and durable. I’ve had it at many of my shows for the past year and a half, and finally it’s emerged from the testing mode and into the public eye! Very exciting for me!
What is especially nice about the animal necklaces is that every one of them has a matching pair of earrings. In some cases there are a couple of different matching earring choices (a dangling pair and a post pair). They look great complementing each other, but worn alone the necklace is awfully pretty as well.
The length of the rubber cord is about 18 inches. I picked that length as the most popular, based on several years of selling necklaces. It seems to work for most people.
And how about those little glass beads? They add a hint of sparkle and interest to the necklace, and frame the centerpiece of the design. I like to choose the glass bead color in a complementary or matching shade.
I really love the way these enamel necklaces look and feel! |
