And who knows? I haven’t seen every butterfly on the planet. Maybe there is one that looks like my representation. Maybe there’s even an as yet undiscovered species of lavender butterfly that really looks like this one. You just never know…

I love this color, and think it would look marvelous with a jewel tone outfit, even a purple or teal dress or blouse would set it off nicely. Some women like to match things perfectly to what they’re wearing, and others (myself included) like to try interesting combinations of colors that tend to play off one another. But of course you can always wear these earrings with the traditional summer white. You can get away with just about anything that way. But that’s so easy it’s almost like cheating! My red and black enamel ladybug earrings work well like this, too, or really any of them at the enamel bug earring home.

What I find funny is that the official name of this color, according to my painters, is “salmon”. I just don’t see it! Perhaps it was dubbed salmon by someone who had a bit of trouble with color blindness. To me this color is most definitely a delicate lavender color.

I think you can be assured that your enamel lavender butterfly earrings will not be the orange red traditionally associated with the color known as “salmon”!
