Call me unusual, but I think enamel bug earrings are just one of the best ideas I’ve had as an artist! I’m a bit of a bugaholic. No, I don’t consume them, but I am totally interested in their habits, visages, color and the like. And there are so many of them, all filling their own little ecological niches. Good stuff! Now if we’re talking about cockroaches, or the giant variety euphemistically referred to as “palmetto bugs”- not so interested. Except in getting them out of my house. You see, these are primarily outdoor bugs that become fascinated with the indoors when Florida gets especially hot in July and August. And, of course, the worst part is that they fly. And they’re so big that you can actually hear them fly! But in their favor, they are a member of the cockroach family, really know how to survive. But my bug earrings are nice bugs. Lady bugs and three different butterflies, all painted by hand. I really love the idea of colorful things to wear, especially as earrings, and these certainly reflect my philosophy. I think color can be cheering, as well. Enamel bug earrings are an idea that has come into its own in the Magic Zoo! Of course, I have normal things like cat earrings in enamel and a whole enamel earrings page to explore. |
