Toad Weather

Toads love the kind of “almost getting ready to rain” sort of days we’ve had lately. I wonder where they lay their little toad eggs around here. I don’t have a pond nearby, and no other water sources are anywhere close, but I see a lot of the little guys.

When I was a kid I was constantly handling amphibians like toads, frogs and salamanders, but in my advanced adulthood I have gotten a bit squeamish and leave them be for the most part. I also heard a rumor that some of the toads we have here in Florida are poisonous. Probably only if you eat them, but nonetheless I feel safer just letting them go about their toady business undisturbed.
