Sterling Silver Dog Pendants
Ancient artisans represented the things around them that were important. Oftentimes these were symbols that had spiritual importance. I still love the idea of symbol jewelry, and have created a pet paw pendant in sterling as well as a small silver dog bone pendant that most people find instantly recognizable as representing all things canine.
But if you prefer a pendant that represents your specific animal, you very well may find it at my Magic Zoo home page. I love making dog jewelry, and spend many pleasant hours designing them in my Florida Studio.
What really amuses me is creating a dog’s face with the typical expression of that breed. I think you’ll really see what I mean when you take a look at my sterling Boston terrier pendant. I think the look on his face is somewhere in between being perplexed and being completely shocked!
One of the more challenging dog pendants was the .925 pit bull pendant in 2 different sizes. I wanted to make a dog that represented the sweeter qualities of this canine (yes, there are some family friendly pit bulls out there)!
For my money, one of the most enchanting dogs is the dachshund. The thing I loved about creating a dachshund pendant in silver was that it represents all the different color variations of this particular breed.
When I designed the lugubrious bulldog face in gleaming sterling silver I just had to laugh out loud! Such a sad, sweet face! It was a real challenge, but I think the result was worth the effort.
Necklace pendants in canine designs are not only fun- they’re one of the best ways to show off your favorite breed no matter where you go. Wear them to the grocery store or wear them out for dinner and a movie.
One of the most touching reasons people wear my dog pendants is in remembrance of a favorite pet that’s passed away. How wonderful to wear a representation of your best friend close to your hear.
Another group of people wear dog pendants because they can’t actually own a dog due to health or housing reasons. They love dogs but are unable to have the real thing. I’ve had many a mom purchase a .925 dog pendant necklace for her daughter because she was too young to have a pet, but was in love with one breed or another.
If you are the proud owner of a Labrador retriever, there’s an excellent chance you may want to take a peek at the wonderful sterling profile pendant of the lab I created. This happens to be one I’m especially proud of.
And of course my line of dog charms wouldn’t be complete without a golden retriever, sterling silver pendant version. I especially love the texture of the fur on his ears.
Now I have a lot of other sterling dog pendants such as the frisky border collie and the boxer pendant with natural ears. If I didn’t mention your breed here it doesn’t mean I don’t make it. After all, creating pendants in sterling silver of all varieties is one of the pleasures of my life!
