About Our English Horse Jewelry
I love the braiding of the horse’s mane for those who ride English, and it was fun to capture that in my English horse jewelry. This is definitely a whimsical variation of a horse, but I’m rather fond of the design and hope you enjoy it too!

I’ve been doing a little research into horses and discovering facts I find interesting. For instance, did you know that there is only one species of horse still considered to be wild that is still extant? It is called Przewalski’s horse after the Russian explorer who discovered it in 1881. I always find it amusing when someone from a more “civilized” country is given the credit for discovering an animal that has of course been known to the indigenous people for thousands of years!

I also find it interesting that horses can easily go feral. Makes you wonder how truly “domesticated” domesticated animals really are. I know in the western USA there are herds of wild mustang still. And in Australia there are wild horse herds known as brumbies. I would imagine the same herd instincts would be found in both country’s  wild horses. A basic herd of mares, foals and colts led by a stallion.

I have a large selection of the English horse jewelry with a little silver or gold braid running up the back of the neck.
