Yorkie jewelry seems appropriate in relationship to this little dog, which is a bit of a jewel itself. I love the big brown eyes and that adorably sweet expression on this little dog.
Yorkies were originally bred as a dog that would catch rats infesting the mine shafts. They crossed the Skye terrier, the black and tan toy terrier, the Dandie Dinmot and the Maltese. It wasn’t until later in that century that the modern looking Yorkie appeared.
Because the Yorkshire terrier is very attached to its master, it might become upset if left alone too long on its own and start to damage things in the house. This is probably a dog best with someone doesn’t mind having it along most of the time. They are entertaining little dogs- intelligent and easy to train. And like some other little dogs, it can make a good guard dog. They are probably good little barkers, so I would imagine they’d have a function more as an alarm than anything else.
Today the Yorkie is one of the most popular of all the toy breeds. It loves to play outside but is still a good dog for the apartment dweller.
I have several Yorkie jewelry designs at the moment; a nice sized pin pendant, a smaller pendant, a pair of dangling earrings, some post earrings and a charm. |
