The westie jewelry I created is one of my favorite of my dog jewelry, especially the pin.
I have two slightly different versions of the West Highland White Terrier heritage. One of them tells me that the westie is just a white version of the cairn terrier and the two are basically one and the same breed. If that’s the case, then perhaps I could call this cairn terrier jewelry as well!
The other slightly different history says that westies were originally cairn terriers that happened to be born white, but now the two are very separate breeds. I don’t know which version to believe, but if my westie can also pass as a cairn terrier (and I have sold it to some people who told me it would pass as one) then I’m happy.
The main thing about westies is that they are charming little dogs. I remember the westie that was the constant companion of Bertie’s Aunt Agatha in Jeeves and Wooster, a British comedy (and a very funny one) that was set in the 1930s. That little dog was a real scene stealer! He had the typical westie personality- merry, cute, lively and very sociable. They are even supposed to make good guard dogs!
My westie jewelry has been in the Magic Zoo line for a while, and I imagine a new version will come around sometime before too long. |
