Jack Russell terriers are so cute and compact, just begging to have some Jack Russell jewelry made in their image!
These terriers were developed by Parson Jack Russell in the 1800s. He was a well known breeder and an avid dog lover. Russell wanted to create a small yet brave dog that could hunt small animals like the fox. Apparently he crossed some working terriers with something like a wire fox terrier. He ended up with this great little terrier that seemingly was everything he could have hoped for. When the good parson passed away, there was some concern that the breed he developed would disappear from the face of the earth. But European hunters loved the Jack Russell so this little breed continued on.
Jack Russell terriers are merry, courageous little dogs that are good with kids. They are also quite lively and I’ve noticed that a lot of my customers who keep horses have one or more of these little dogs as well. Do they like horses and vice versa? I don’t really know what the connection is, but there definitely is one.
Jack Russell puppies, which must be unbearably cute, usually come in litters of four to six. I’ve heard it said that they are very sturdy little guys and quite easy to raise.
