About Our Border Collie Jewelry

My first border collie jewelry designs were in black and white. I used clay to create the color, but my current crop has the idea of dark versus light created by etching the darker area with a tool that allows more of the antiquing to be a part of the design element. Border collies are smart dogs. Even I, who has never had such as a companion can tell that.  They really do look extremely bright- it’s that spark of intelligence in their eyes that’s hard to miss. And I love the color variations in this breed, especially the black and white and the red and white. Border collies today are descended from collies that were used as working dogs in Great Britain. They’re now used around the world as a working sheepdog. Border collies have a natural herding instinct; even the puppies will crouch and circle even before learning from older dogs how to herd properly. Because they are so beautiful and smart, a lot of people keep them as pets. But I’ll bet they’re a lot happier doing what they were bred for. Of course if they are involved in agility training, that would seem to be a good outlet for these hard working canines.
